October 28 & 29, 2017
5:30 pm Green Mountain Orchards
This Fall, a large-scale pageant will unfurl across the fields of Green Mountain Orchards, a hundred-year-old family farm in Putney, VT. Movement, large-scale puppetry, poetry and music will converge to explore the themes and small beauties surrounding this storied orchard. The pageant is an investigation of place. It explores the inter-generational transitions that family farms face, the people new and migrant and old and older who have animated Putney over the years, and the enduring commitment to live alongside the land.
If you are interested in participating as a mover, builder, puppeteer, performer, or farmer, please join for any of our many public sessions during the upcoming months. Or just shoot me an email.
Whether you are a participant or viewer, we hope our pageant will offer a beautiful way to experience the orchard landscape anew and feel out the forces that are acting on this place.
